WordPress websites
Fast, easy-to-edit sites built on WordPress, so you can update your own content without calling a developer. Built with clean templates and only the plugins you actually need.

A good-looking website is only half the job. I design and build WordPress and Shopify sites with SEO built in from day one, so they load fast, are easy to update and bring in enquiries, and you're not paying to fix them later.
New businesses, rebrands and sites that are slow or hard to update.
SEO-friendly web design means planning and building a website so search engines can crawl it, understand it and rank it, while visitors find it fast and easy to use. It covers site structure, page speed, mobile layout, clean code, headings, internal links and structured data, all decided before launch.
Most websites are designed first and handed to an SEO later. That usually means rebuilding menus, rewriting pages and fixing slow templates after you've already paid for the site. I do it the other way round: structure and search first, then design and build around it.
Speed and mobile matter as much as looks. Google uses mobile-first indexing and measures real-world loading and responsiveness through Core Web Vitals, so I keep pages light and test them on phones before launch.
Redesigns carry the biggest risk. If old pages disappear without proper redirects, rankings you've earned over years can go with them. Google's own guidance on site moves recommends mapping every old URL to its new home with permanent redirects, which is exactly how I handle it.

Online shops set up with clean product and category structures that are ready to rank, with collections, filters and product pages planned for search from the start.
A fresh design that keeps the rankings you've earned, with every old URL mapped, redirects tested and content carried over properly before the switch.
Moving to a new platform, domain or host without losing traffic: URL mapping, permanent redirects, Search Console updates and close monitoring after launch.
Slow pages tracked down and fixed, from heavy images and unused scripts to bloated themes and plugins, with Core Web Vitals checked on real devices.
Site structure, URLs, headings, schema, sitemaps and internal links planned before the first page is designed. Checked against my technical SEO checklist.
Clear calls to action, simple forms and pages that explain what you do in seconds, so visitors become enquiries rather than bounces.
A walkthrough of how to edit your site, so it's yours to run once it's live, plus notes you can come back to later.
Want a WordPress site? See WordPress web design. Selling online? See Shopify web design. Moving to a new platform or domain? See website migration. Need ongoing SEO after launch? See my SEO services. Want the words written as well? See content marketing.
The right platform depends on what you sell and who will run the site. Here's how the main options usually compare. I'll recommend what suits your business, not what suits me.
| Compare | WordPress | Shopify | Squarespace or Wix |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best for | Service businesses, blogs and content-led sites | Online shops of most sizes | Small, simple sites that rarely change |
| Editing | Easy once set up well, very flexible | Easy for products and orders | Very easy, with less flexibility |
| SEO control | Full control over structure, URLs and schema | Good, with some fixed URL patterns | Covers the basics, with limits |
| Running costs | Hosting, plus any premium themes or plugins | Monthly plan, plus apps and possible transaction fees | Monthly plan |
| Ownership | You own the files and can move host | Tied to Shopify's platform | Tied to the builder's platform |
Already on one of these? I can work with what you have, and I'll tell you honestly if a move is worth it.
We talk about your business, your customers and what the site needs to do, and look at sites you like and dislike.
I plan the structure, pages and content, with SEO in place from the start. For redesigns, I map every existing URL first.
Design and build, with your feedback at each stage, then speed, mobile and SEO checks before launch.
Launch with redirects, tracking and Search Console set up, then a hand-over so you can run the site yourself.
It can if it's done carelessly. I map every old page to its new home, keep the content that ranks and test redirects before launch, so the rankings you've earned carry over. Some movement in the first few weeks is normal while Google processes the changes.
For most service businesses I recommend WordPress, because it's flexible and easy to edit. For online shops, Shopify is often simpler to run. I'll recommend what suits your business, not what suits me.
A clear structure, fast pages, a good mobile layout, sensible URLs, one main topic per page, proper headings, internal links and structured data. Most of this costs nothing extra if it's planned before the build.
Yes. I build sites so you can edit text, images and pages yourself, and I'll show you how before hand-over.
I can. Good content is a big part of how a site performs, so I can write it, edit what you have, or work with your copywriter. See content marketing.
It depends on the number of pages, how ready your content is and how quickly feedback comes back. A small brochure site is much quicker than a large shop or a migration. I'll give you a timeline once the plan is agreed.
It depends on the platform, the number of pages and templates, and whether you need content, a migration or a shop. After a short call I'll give you a clear quote, with nothing hidden.
Yes. Every page is designed and tested on phones as well as desktops. Google indexes the mobile version of your site, so it has to work well there first.
Usually, yes. Slow sites are often down to oversized images, too many plugins, heavy themes or scripts that load on every page. I find the cause and fix it, without rebuilding the site unless it really needs it.
Yes. Many projects start with an existing site that is slow, broken or hard to edit. I review it first and tell you honestly whether it's worth fixing or better to rebuild, and why.
Sometimes. For clients who want to change layouts visually, I use Elementor and keep it lean so it doesn't slow the site down. For others, a lighter theme or the WordPress block editor is a better fit. I'll explain the trade-off before we start.
I'll recommend a host that suits your site and budget and help set it up in your own account. That way you keep control of your site and can change provider whenever you like.
I keep an eye on Search Console, speed and redirects in the weeks after launch and fix anything that comes up. After that, you can run the site yourself or carry on with ongoing SEO or support.
You do. The domain, hosting and site are set up in your own accounts, so you stay in control even if we stop working together.
Tell me where things stand and what you'd like to change. I'll reply personally with honest next steps.
