SEO services that bring in the right visitors.

SEO services from a freelance SEO specialist who has been doing this since 2010. I cover the whole job, from the first audit to the links that move you up the page, and I know what still works and what Google stopped rewarding years ago.

The basics

What are SEO services?

SEO services are the work of making a website easier for search engines to crawl, understand and trust, so it appears for the searches your customers make. That usually covers a technical audit, keyword research, on-page improvements, content and link building, plus reporting that shows what changed and why.

Search engine optimisation works on three fronts. Technical SEO makes sure Google can reach and index your pages. On-page SEO and content make each page the clearest answer to a specific search. Off-page SEO, mostly links and mentions from other sites, builds the trust that helps you compete with established names.

It now also means showing up in AI answers. Google's AI Overviews and tools like ChatGPT tend to draw on pages that search engines already understand and trust, so good SEO and AI search optimisation overlap heavily.

Google publishes a short guide on whether you need an SEO and what to ask before hiring one. It's worth reading, and I'm happy to answer every question on it.

What my SEO services include

01

SEO audit

A full check of your site's technical health, content and backlinks, with every issue ranked by how much it matters and how hard it is to fix. You get a clear list to work through, not a raw export from a tool. My SEO audit checklist shows what goes into it.

02

Keyword research

The searches your customers actually make, grouped by intent so each page has one clear job. I look at what already ranks, what competitors win and where the realistic openings are for a site of your size. Here's how I do keyword research.

03

On-page SEO

Titles, headings, internal links, images and copy shaped so search engines understand what each page is about and visitors find what they came for. Every page is checked against my on-page SEO checklist.

04

Technical SEO

Crawling, indexing, site speed, Core Web Vitals, redirects and structured data fixed at the root, not patched over. On sites that have grown messy over the years, this is often where the quickest wins are. See the technical SEO checklist.

05

Link building

Relevant links earned through outreach, useful content and digital PR. No link farms, no paid link networks and nothing that could put your site at risk of a Google penalty.

06

E-commerce SEO

Category and product pages, filters, faceted navigation and duplicate content handled so your shop can rank at scale. Product schema and clean internal links help the right products show up for the right searches.

07

SaaS SEO

Content and landing pages built around the problems your product solves and the people searching for answers. That includes feature pages, comparison pages and help content written to bring in sign-ups, not just visits.

08

Penalty recovery

If traffic has dropped after a core update or a manual action, I find the likely cause, clean up what needs cleaning and plan the way back. Recovery takes time, but it starts with an honest diagnosis.

Choosing an SEO

Freelance SEO consultant, agency or in-house?

There's no single right answer. It depends on your budget, how much work there is and how involved you want to be. Here's how the three options usually compare.

Process

How my SEO service works

Listen

We talk about your business, your customers, your competitors and what you want SEO to do for you. A good SEO should ask these questions before suggesting anything.

Audit and plan

I audit the site and the competition, then give you a written plan ranked by impact, so you know what happens first and why.

Do the work

Technical fixes first, then on-page work, content and links, in that order. I make the changes myself or brief your developer, whichever suits you.

Report and improve

Monthly reporting in plain English: what changed, what it did and what comes next. The plan is adjusted as results come in.

FAQs

Questions about SEO services

Can't see your question? Send me a message and I'll answer it.

What do SEO services include?

Most SEO services include a technical audit, keyword research, on-page optimisation, content and link building, with regular reporting. Mine cover all of these, plus e-commerce SEO, SaaS SEO and recovery after traffic drops. You can take the full service or just the parts you need.

How much do SEO services cost?

It depends on the size of your site, how competitive your market is and how much work is needed. A one-off audit is priced differently from ongoing monthly SEO. After a short call I'll give you a clear quote, and my guide to how much SEO costs explains the usual options.

How long does SEO take to work?

It depends on where your site starts, how competitive your market is and how much can be changed. Technical fixes can help quickly, while content and links build over months. I'll give you a realistic view after the audit rather than a promise up front.

Do you guarantee first page rankings?

No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Nobody controls Google's results, and Google's own guidance says no one can guarantee a number one ranking. What I can promise is honest work, a clear plan and reporting that shows exactly what's been done and what has changed.

Is SEO worth it for a small business?

Usually, if people search for what you sell. SEO keeps bringing in visitors without paying for every click, which makes it good value over time. If your customers don't search online, or you need sales this week, paid ads or other channels may suit you better, and I'll tell you so.

Should I invest in SEO or Google Ads?

Ads bring in visitors as soon as they go live and stop when you stop paying. SEO takes longer but keeps working. Many businesses use both, with ads covering the gap while SEO builds. I also run Google Ads and digital marketing if you'd like them planned together.

Does Google offer SEO services?

No. Google doesn't sell SEO or offer paid ways to rank higher in its organic results. Be wary of anyone who claims a special relationship with Google, because Google warns against exactly that.

Do you offer a one-off SEO audit?

Yes. You can take the audit and plan to your own team, or start with the audit and carry on with ongoing SEO. Either way, you get a prioritised list of what to fix and why.

Do your SEO services cover AI search?

Yes. The same work that helps Google understand your site also makes it easier for AI tools to understand it. If showing up in AI answers is a priority, my AI search optimisation service goes further.

Can you work with my developer or in-house team?

Yes. I often write the technical brief and your developer makes the changes, or I work directly in the site if you'd prefer. Either way, I'll explain each change so your team understands it.

Which platforms do you work with?

Mostly WordPress, Shopify and Squarespace, plus custom-built sites. The SEO principles are the same; only the way changes are made differs.

Let's talk about your SEO.

Tell me where things stand and what you'd like to change. I'll reply personally with honest next steps.
