The basics

What is white label SEO?

White label SEO is when an agency sells SEO to its own clients while a specialist partner does the work behind the scenes. The agency keeps the client relationship and its branding on every report and document; the partner handles audits, on-page work, content and links, and stays invisible to the end client.

It lets you say yes when clients ask for SEO, without the cost and risk of hiring a full-time specialist before you have the work to justify it. You own the client, set the price and manage the account. I do the SEO, to a standard you'd be happy to put your name on. It also gives your web design or ads clients a natural next step, which helps keep them with you for longer.

The biggest risk with outsourced SEO is cheap work that comes back to bite you: thin content, bought links and reports nobody understands. Google lists buying links and link schemes as spam, and a penalty on a client site lands on your agency's reputation, not your supplier's. Everything I deliver stays inside Google's guidelines.

You'll sometimes hear it called private label SEO, SEO outsourcing or SEO reselling. The labels vary slightly, but the idea is the same: your brand on the front, specialist work behind it.

FAQs

Questions about white label SEO

Can't see your question? Send me a message and I'll answer it.

What does white label SEO include?

Usually the same work a client would get from a specialist directly: audits, keyword research, on-page and technical fixes, content, links, local SEO and reporting. You choose which parts to resell, client by client, so you only pay for what you sell.

Who actually does the work?

I do. I plan, carry out or oversee every task myself. If a large content project needs extra writers, I only use people I trust, and I'll always tell you who is doing what.

How should I price SEO to my clients?

Most agencies add a margin on top of the partner's price to cover account management and profit. The right mark-up depends on your market and how much client contact you handle. I'll show you how each piece of work breaks down, so you can price it with confidence.

Is white label SEO worth it for a small agency?

Often, yes. It lets you offer SEO from the first client without a salary to cover, and you can grow the arrangement as demand grows. If SEO becomes a big part of your business, you can always hire in-house later.

Will your name appear anywhere?

No. The work, reports and any client-facing documents carry your branding. I stay behind the scenes unless you want me on a call.

Can you join client calls?

Yes, if you'd like. I can join as part of your team to explain technical points, or simply brief your account manager beforehand.

How do you price white label work?

It depends on the scope and number of clients. Some agencies want a monthly retainer per client, others prefer one-off projects like audits. Get in touch and we'll work out what suits you.

What is the difference between white label and private label SEO?

In practice, very little. Both mean a partner does the SEO while your agency sells it under its own brand. Some people use private label to mean the partner's involvement is completely hidden, which is how I work by default.

Will you contact my clients directly?

No. Your clients are your clients. I only speak to them if you ask me to, and always as part of your team.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes, if you'd like one. Many agencies prefer to have it in place before sharing client details, and I'm happy to work that way.

What happens if a client leaves my agency?

The work already done stays with the client's site, and the reports and documents are yours. I don't follow clients when they leave, and I won't take them on directly without your agreement.

Can I start with one client?

Yes. Starting with one client, or with a single audit, is a sensible way to see how I work before passing over more.

What if a client wants results you can't promise?

I'll tell you honestly, before you sell it. Nobody can guarantee rankings, and it's better to set realistic expectations up front than lose a client later.

Do you work with agencies outside the UK?

Yes. I work with businesses and agencies in many countries, and I'm used to fitting around different time zones.

Which platforms can you work on?

Mostly WordPress, Shopify and Squarespace, plus custom-built sites. Where changes need a developer, I write a clear brief your team or the client's developer can follow.

How quickly can you start?

Once we've agreed the scope and I have access to the client's site and data, I can usually start soon after. I'll give you a realistic timeline for the first deliverables.

Let's talk about your agency's SEO.

Tell me where things stand and what you'd like to change. I'll reply personally with honest next steps.
